SANDRA WHITE

Sandra White is the Founder and President of Bethlehem Farm, Incorporated. Kentucky-bred, Texas-raised with racing in her blood, she dreamed of owning a Thoroughbred farm in the Bluegrass upon her first trip to the Derby when she was 12 years old. Never allowed on the backside of the track, Sandra spent her childhood in the clubhouse and her adult life promoting horse racing in Texas until God commissioned her to do something a little different.
Sandra holds a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Texas. She spent 10 years in Houston as a public relations executive. The first five years, she spent working for New York-based Burson-Marsteller, the world's largest public relations/public affairs agency. Sandra opened her own agency and for five years represented her love for racing with Louisiana Downs and The Texas Horse Racing Association. In 1986, her agency was part of the team that passed the statewide referendum to allow pari-mutual wagering for the first time in Texas.
In 1990, Sandra sold her agency in Houston to pursue20the call to ministry to the women in racing by attending Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. While in seminary, Sandra consulted with the American Association of Equine Practitioners to develop the “On Call” program to train veterinarians to respond to crisis for the televised Triple Crown racing series and other major racing events. Working with Chaplain Bobby Aldridge at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington for three years, Sandra graduated in 1993 with a Masters of Arts in World Mission and Evangelism.
In 1995, Sandra bought Bethlehem Farm in Paris, Kentucky, and opened the mission to women and Thoroughbreds in Fall 2000. In 2004, the Center for Women in Racing was founded and provides office and residential facilities. Sandra is currently President of Bethlehem Farm, Inc., and Director of the Center for Women in Racing. She also serves her community as the 2010 World Equestrian Games Chairman on the Board of Directors for the Paris-Bourbon County Chamber of Commerce and as a board member of the local Kentucky Agency for Substance Abuse Policy. Sandra is a public speaker and often addresses the spiritual side of healing through the love of God and horses accompanied by the devotional DVD, "Loveletter to a Horsewoman".
