Based in Northern Virginia, Kitty Garrity owner of Smith-Garrity, Ltd. and L'Apogée Saddlery, is an American saddle designer and active Dressage rider. With over 30 years of Equestrian Industry experience, Garrity has been able to turn a lifelong passion for horses into a successful career. Her company, Smith-Garrity, Ltd. specializes in the marketing and distribution of premium branded equestrian products. Current brands include L'Apogée Saddles of France, L'Apogée Lambskin Saddles/Pads of Austria, Luggage of France, Bridles of England and The Royal Rider Stirrups of Italy. A registered trademark of S-G, Ltd., L'Apogée® is recognized as the new premier brand within the equestrian community. Graduating from the University of Massachusetts with a Pre-Vet degree, Kitty worked as a sales representative for a variety of high end saddle and riding equipment manufacturers. After selling thousands of other companies' saddles, some which included her design modifications, the decision was made in 2001 to launch the new L'Apogée brand. Most saddles, as it turns out, are designed by European men. L'Apogée Saddlery now offers Dressage, Cross County, Jumping and Fox Hunting models and works with many Olympic level riders.
