Pam is a business owner and lifelong horsewoman who has partnered with horses for the last ten years to bring clients new awareness and positive self-development. She is known for her ability as a catalyst, bringing a variety of different people together to enhance each other's assets and expertise. Currently, she co-facilitates an equine experiential program at English Mountain Recovery Center in the beautiful Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. She is the founder of Equine Assisted Assets, established to assist individuals entering the field of equine assisted/experiential activities. As a regional vice president for the former TN Horse Council, and a founding member of the East TN Horse Association, Salem has been "owned by horses" since 1956, and owns Horizon Farm EAGL Center in Seymour, TN, where she believes that "horses being horses help humans be better humans." Pam has a B.S. in Education and 40+ years of hands-on horse experience as a competitor (Pony Club, horse shows, and competitive trail) and breeder of Arabian & Anglo Arabian sport horses. Since 1972, she has co-owned and operated a hospitality linen and contract furnishings business selling to motels. She attended one of the field's first trainings in October 1999 and hosted one in October 2000 after which she began to work as the horse specialist with a licensed therapist doing equine assisted psychotherapy and equine experiential learning programs. In October 2003, she attended a Three Day Workshop for Educators, Counselors & Riding Instructors at EPONA Equestrian Center in Tucson, AZ, with Linda Kohanov, author of The Tao of Equus and Riding Between the Worlds, and Kathleen Barry Ingram of equine facilitated learning. In June 2004, she attended EAPD Training with Chris Irwin, author of Horses Don't Lie and Dancing With the Dark Horse. In 2006 she attended Eagala Founder Greg Kersten's OK Corral Series Blue Seminar [business], in June 2007 received certification by Innovative Horizons as an Equine Assisted Training Specialist, and returned to Eagala Level I in December 2007 to maintain her Eagala certification. In April 2008 she hosted an OK Corral White Seminar [mounted], and continues to hone her equine assisted learning skills. In July 2008, she was a founding member of E3A, thereunder Experiential Education Association. Pam has co-facilitated equine assisted psychotherapy with a licensed therapist and equine assisted learning programs since 2000. She continues to Translate Equusä through authentic connection with the horses she loves. Pam is featured in Marketing Ideas for the Equine Professional by Beth Woodward. Pam is dedicated to the success of equine assisted/experiential work, and to the support and encouragement of those who are inspired to do it.
